Get answers to common questions about IPL Facial (Photofacial).

IPL photofacial targets pigmentation, sun spots, age spots, broken capillaries, and diffuse redness. It improves overall tone and texture by using pulsed light to break pigment and stimulate collagen. Multiple treatments yield the best visible results.

Most clients see noticeable improvement after 1 to 3 sessions, with optimal results after 4 to 6 treatments spaced four weeks apart. Your provider will recommend a personalized plan based on skin type and concerns.

Discomfort is minimal; most clients feel light snapping or warmth. We apply cooling and adjust settings for comfort. Immediately after, skin may look flushed or show darkened spots that flake off as the skin heals.

Common temporary effects include redness, mild swelling, and darkening of treated spots before they fade. Rarely blistering or scarring can occur; following aftercare and sun avoidance greatly reduces risks.

Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least two weeks and skip retinoids or harsh exfoliants five to seven days prior. Arrive with clean, product-free skin; disclose medications and skin history.

Initial improvement may appear within one to two weeks as dark spots darken then flake off. Continued collagen remodeling improves tone over weeks; most clients need multiple sessions for cumulative, long-lasting results.
